Fred Dunn was appointed Auditor General of Alberta effective June 1, 2002. He retired as senior audit partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers with more than 35 years of experience in public accounting and auditing, serving a wide variety of clients ranging from small businesses to large publicly held corporations. In 1993, Fred was appointed as national partner to coordinate Canadian governance and internal audit advisory services and became a member of a world firm committee, which developed internal audit services' methodology and supporting technology. He is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors, served as the Director of Internal Audit for a multi-national company (on secondment), and has consulted on design and assessment of internal control systems. Educated at the University of British Columbia, Mr. Dunn joined Price Waterhouse in 1966 and earned his C.A. degree in 1968. As a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in B.C., Alberta and Ontario, Fred has served on numerous Institute committees. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta awarded him the FCA designation in February 2003. He currently serves on the Edmonton Chapter of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). |
