PETER VALENTINE, FCA

Peter Valentine currently holds a joint appointment as Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of the Calgary Health Region and to the Dean of Medicine, University of Calgary. He is also an adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Medicine. He recently completed a six-month term as Interim Vice-President, Finance and Services, University of Calgary.

Prior to his present appointment, Mr. Valentine served for seven years as the Auditor General of Alberta. From 1958 to1995, Mr. Valentine enjoyed a career with KPMG, serving as Partner-in-Charge of Professional Practice of the Calgary office, Chairman of the KPMG International Energy Practice Group and Senior Audit Partner responsible for a variety of medium to large sized organizations, with expertise in the petroleum industry and Canadian securities practice.

Peter was re-elected as the Chair of the Board of Governors of CCAF-FCVI Inc. and has previously served as Chair of the Financial Advisory Committee of the Alberta Securities Commission and as a member of the Accounting Standards Board and the Public Sector Accounting Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Peter is a Member of the Board of Trustees, and a member of the Audit Committee, of the Fording Canadian Coal Trust; a member of the Board of Trustees and a member of the Audit Committee of PrimeWest Energy Income Fund; a member of the Board of Directors, and the Chair of the Audit Committee of Resmor Trust Company, a private Canadian financial institution; and a Member of the Board of Trustees, and a Member of the Audit Committee, of Superior Plus Income Fund.

Mr. Valentine holds a Bachelor of Commerce (with Distinction) from the University of British Columbia..
