JOHN M. HERHALT, CA, CISA

John is a partner in KPMG LLP's advisory services practice and is the Global Leader of their Infrastructure, Government and Health Line of Business as well as Canada's National Leader of Public Sector Services. He has a B.A. and B.Comm. from the University of Windsor, a Chartered Accountancy designation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario and a Certified Information Systems Auditor designation from the Information Systems Audit and Control Association. For over 27 years, John has led many projects within the public sector and public utilities sector including external audit, internal audit and various advisory services. He has advised these public sector clients extensively in areas of control integrity, strategic and business planning, governance, organizational restructuring, risk management and process improvement. He has assisted public sector clients with comprehensive business risk assessments and the development of risk management frameworks, control assessments and improvement, the development of strategic and business plans and the examination of alternate service delivery methods. John's experience includes projects with municipalities, universities and colleges, hospitals, school boards, public utilities, provincial government ministries and their crowns, agencies and boards, and regulatory authorities.
