INNOVATION, RISK AND CONTROL

Innovation, Risk and Control

CCAF is proud to publish its latest research on promoting innovation, risk management and control in public sector organizations.

As governments in Canada and abroad address fiscal pressures, they will be looking for ways to improve productivity and management practices for all continuing programs.

Based on extensive consultations with public sector managers and auditors across Canada Innovation, Risk and Controlrepresents a practical manager’s guide to encouraging innovation, understanding control, managing risk, reducing red tape… and delivering better results for citizens.

Our guidance is structured around four large ideas:

      • Encourage Innovation
      • Be in Control
      • Act on Opportunity
      • Reduce Red Tape.

In publishing this guidance, CCAF aims to share knowledge and encourage dialogue among public sector leaders in Canada and abroad. We believe that when managers, auditors and legislators discuss these issues and work out their different perspectives, friction is reduced, performance is improved, and citizens benefit.

CCAF will be following up by publishing case studies and other tools that will help managers apply the guidance contained within this document. We hope to bring together public sector leaders to discuss these issues in a Symposium later this year.

We would like to hear your reaction to this work. Please don’t hesitate to contact Lee McCormack, CCAF Director of Research, if you would like to discuss or comment on public sector innovation, risk and control. Lee may be reached at (613) 241-6713 ext. 227 or by email at lmccormack@ccaf-fcvi.com.
