CCAF held a one-day workshop for the Ghana Audit Service (GAS), followed by a two-day workshop for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that included a joint session with the GAS. These activities, aimed at strengthening parliamentary oversight and improving cooperation between the GAS and the PAC, were a follow-up to similar CCAF workshops held in Ghana in 2007. They served as an opportunity for the GAS and PAC to assess the progress made since 2007 and to review and redefine their priorities and strategies going forward.

These workshops were once again organized with the support and participation of the Parliamentary Centre regional office based in Accra. Dr. Anthony Tsekpo, Senior Budget Expert with the Parliamentary Centre, led a session on the comparative experiences of PACs in other African countries.
