Ronald C. Thompson, FCA, is CCAF's new Chair
 Ron Thompson, former Assistant Auditor General of Canada, has been elected Chair of CCAF-FCVI Inc. by the Board of Governors effective April 1, 2009.
Mr. Thompson retired recently from the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. He was appointed an Assistant Auditor General in 1985. For many years he was responsible for the OAG's International Relations Program. In 2007-2008, he served as Interim Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development.
Mr. Thompson was a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants' Public Sector Accounting Board for many years and he served as its chair in 1999. He was granted the FCA designation by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2006.
In 2006, Mr. Thompson received the Friends of the Fellows Award from the class of Fellows graduating from CCAF's International Program.
Michael McLaughlin, FCMA – a legacy of service
Michael McLaughlin, who is stepping down as Chair, has served the Foundation in a wide range of capacities for many years.
He joined the Board in 2000, and was elected Vice-Chair in 2004 and Chair in 2005. He served as Interim Executive Director from October 2002 until December 2003.
As Chair, he worked tirelessly for CCAF – representing the Foundation at meetings and conferences, offering guidance to the staff, conducting interviews for the International Program, communicating with members, providing leadership to the Board, etc.
He has also become a valued training associate for CCAF, leading courses and workshops in Canada and abroad. Although he is stepping down from the Board, he will remain highly involved in the Foundation.
He is currently conducting a CCAF study of international assistance for audit office capacity development for the Canadian International Development Agency. The study will examine what Supreme Audit Institutions in developing countries require in the way of capacity development, what is currently provided by donors, including Canada, and who the major donors are.
Michael will also remain a member of the Advisory Committee for CCAF's Innovation, Risk and Control research program.
CCAF members and Governors thank Michael for the major contribution he has made, and will continue to make, to the success of the Foundation over the years.

Ronald C. Thompson, FCA, est le nouveau président du CA de la CCAF-FCVI
Ron Thompson, ancien vérificateur général adjoint du Canada, a été élu président de la CCAF FCVI Inc. par le conseil d'administration et entre en fonction le 1er avril 2009.
M. Thompson a récemment pris sa retraite du Bureau du vérificateur général du Canada (BVG), où il avait été nommé vérificateur général adjoint en 1985. Pendant de nombreuses années, il a été chargé du Programme des relations internationales du BVG. En 2007-2008, il a assuré la fonction de commissaire intérimaire à l'environnement et au développement durable.
M. Thompson a longtemps été membre du Conseil sur la comptabilité dans le secteur public de l'Institut Canadien des Comptables Agréés et a présidé le Conseil en 1999. L'Institut des comptables agréés de l'Ontario lui a décerné le titre de FCA en 2006.
En 2006, M. Thompson a reçu le Prix Amis des boursiers, décerné par les diplômés du Programme international de bourses d'études de la CCAF-FCVI.
Michael McLaughlin, FCMA – un héritage exceptionnel
 Depuis de nombreuses années, Michael McLaughlin, le président-sortant de la CCAF-FCVI, met ses multiples talents au service de la Fondation.
Il est entré au conseil d'administration en 2000 et a été élu vice-président en 2004, puis président en 2005. Il a occupé la fonction de directeur général par intérim d'octobre 2002 à décembre 2003.
En tant que président du Conseil, il a travaillé pour la CCAF-FCVI sans jamais ménager ses efforts - représentant la Fondation dans les réunions et les conférences, dispensant ses conseils au personnel, menant les entrevues pour le Programme international, communiquant avec les membres, montrant la voie à suivre au Conseil, etc.
Michael est également devenu un précieux collaborateur dans le domaine de la formation pour la CCAF-FCVI, dirigeant les cours et les ateliers organisés au Canada et à l'étranger. Il quitte certes le Conseil, mais il continuera à participer très activement aux activités de la Fondation.
Michael mène actuellement pour l'Agence canadienne de développement international une étude de la CCAF-FCVI sur l'aide internationale pour le développement des capacités des bureaux de vérification. Il examine quels sont les besoins des institutions supérieures de contrôle des pays en développement en matière de développement des capacités, ce que fournissent actuellement les donateurs, dont le Canada, et qui sont les principaux donateurs.
Michael continuera à faire partie du comité consultatif pour le programme de recherche de la CCAF-FCVI axé sur l'innovation, le risque et le contrôle.
Tous les membres et administrateurs de la CCAF-FCVI tiennent à remercier Michael pour son immense contribution passée et future au succès de la Fondation.
