CCAF Governor Howell appointed Superintendent of Financial Services in Ontario
Philip Howell has been appointed CEO and Superintendent of the Financial Services Commission of Ontario by Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty.
Howell, a member of CCAF’s Board of Governors, has served as Deputy Minister of Economic Development and of Tourism, as well as Associate Deputy Minister of Finance. He began his career with the Bank of Canada, and spent a number of years in the private sector. Among other positions with the Ontario government, he was for a time the Province’s Chief Economist.
Howell was first appointed to CCAF’s Board of Governors in 2005, and re-appointed in 2008. He is also a member of the Board’s Research Committee. |

Philip Howell, administrateur de la CCAF-FCVI, est nommé surintendant des services financiers de l'Ontario
Le premier ministre de l’Ontario, M. Dalton McGuinty, a nommé M. Philip Howell directeur général et surintendant, Services financiers, de la Commission des services financiers de l’Ontario.
M. Howell, qui siège au conseil d’administration de la CCAF-FCVI, a déjà assuré les fonctions de sous-ministre du Développement économique, de sous-ministre du Tourisme et de sous-ministre associé des Finances. Il a commencé sa carrière à la Banque du Canada et a passé un certain nombre d’années dans le secteur privé. Il a occupé d’autres postes dans le gouvernement de l’Ontario, dont économiste en chef pendant un certain temps.
M. Howell a été élu au conseil d’administration de la CCAF-FCVI en 2005, et réélu en 2008. À la CCAF-FCVI, il siège également au comité de recherche.
