CCAF looks forward to a close working relationship with the new Auditor General of New Brunswick, Michael Ferguson.
Mr. Ferguson, whose appointment is effective November 1, has 20 years experience with the provincial government and was previously the New Brunswick Government's Comptroller. A Chartered Accountant, he also worked for five years with the accounting and auditing firm Doane Raymond. His appointment received the support of the government and leaders of the opposition.
The new Auditor General is a past member of the Public Sector Accounting Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and currently serves on the Board of the New Brunswick Institute of Chartered Accountants.
He takes over for former Auditor General Daryl Wilson, who was appointed to the position in 1997. Mr. Wilson serves on CCAF's Program Advisory Group for the Public Performance Reporting Program.
We wish Mr. Ferguson well in his new duties and look forward to working with him on issues of mutual interest.

C'est avec enthousiasme que la CCAF-FCVI envisage d'établir une étroite relation de travail avec le nouveau vérificateur général du Nouveau-Brunswick, Michael Ferguson.
Ancien contrôleur général du N.-B., M. Ferguson, dont la nomination entre en vigueur le 1er novembre 2005, possède une vingtaine d'années d'expérience au gouvernement. Comptable agréé, il a travaillé pendant cinq ans au cabinet d'experts-comptables Doane Raymond. Sa nomination a obtenu l'appui du gouvernement et des chefs de l'Opposition.
Le nouveau Vérificateur général a siégé au Conseil sur la comptabilité dans le secteur public de l'Institut Canadien des Comptables Agréés, et il siège actuellement au conseil d'administration de l'Institut des comptables agréés du Nouveau-Brunswick.
Il succède au vérificateur général sortant, Daryl Wilson, qui occupait le poste depuis 1997. M. Wilson siège au groupe consultatif sur la publication de l'information sur la performance, de la CCAF-FCVI.
