Michael McLaughlin, FCMA, Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer of the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority, has been elected by the Governors of CCAF-FCVI Inc. to chair the Foundation's Board.
Mr. McLaughlin was elected on October 16, 2005, at a meeting in Ottawa of CCAF's Board of Governors. He takes over from Peter Valentine, who remains on the Board as Past Chair.
At CCAF's Annual General Meeting just prior to the Board meeting, members elected three new Governors to the Board, each for a two year term:
- Gilles Bédard, Assistant Auditor General of Québec
- Fred Dunn, Auditor General of Alberta
- Charles-Antoine St-Jean, Comptroller General of Canada.
Both Mr. Dunn and Mr. St-Jean are members of CCAF's Accountability and Audit Program Advisory Group.
Doris Paradis, Assistant Auditor General of Québec, completed her term on the Board.
“On behalf of the Board and all the members of CCAF, I would like to thank Mr. Valentine and Mme Paradis for their valuable contributions to the Foundation,” Mr. McLaughlin said.
“I would also like to welcome our new Board members, who are joining us at an exciting time for CCAF. We look forward to the addition of their energy and enthusiasm to help carry the organization forward.”

Le 16 octobre dernier à Ottawa, les administrateurs de la CCAF-FCVI ont élu le nouveau président du conseil. Michael McLaughlin, vice-président et chef de la direction financière de l'Administration canadienne de la sûreté du transport aérien, succède à Peter Valentine, qui continuera de siéger à titre de président-sortant.
À l'Assemblée générale annuelle des membres, tenue immédiatement avant la réunion du conseil, trois nouveaux administrateurs ont été élus :
- Gilles Bédard, vérificateur général adjoint du Québec
- Fred Dunn, vérificateur général de l'Alberta
- Charles-Antoine St-Jean, contrôleur général du Canada.
Notons que messieurs Dunn et St-Jean siègent également au Groupe consultatif sur la reddition de comptes et la vérification, de la CCAF-FCVI.
Madame Doris Paradis, vérificatrice générale adjointe du Québec, vient de terminer son mandat à titre d'administratrice de la CCAF-FCVI.
Au nom du conseil d'administration et de tous les membres de la CCAF-FCVI, Michael McLaughlin a remercié M. Valentine et Mme Paradis de leur grande contribution à la Fondation.
Enfin, il a souhaité la bienvenue aux nouveaux administrateurs en signalant qu'ils se joignent au conseil d'administration à une période des plus stimulantes pour la CCAF-FCVI. Il a ajouté que nous comptons sur leur énergie ainsi que leur enthousiasme pour nous aider à accomplir le travail de la CCAF-FCVI.
