Bruce Bennett has been appointed Assistant Deputy Minister and Provincial Controller with the Treasury Board Office of the Ontario Ministry of Finance.

Ontario's Office of the Provincial Controller ensures effective financial management, accounting and control of programs, activities and resources. Mr. Bennett has been acting provincial controller since January 2006.

He joined the Ministry of Finance to manage the consolidation of Ontario's hospitals, school boards and colleges in the provincial government's financial statements, which was implemented for the first time in the 2006 Budget and the 2006 Public Accounts. He previously held senior controllership and internal audit positions at Ontario Hydro/Ontario Power Generation.

Bruce Bennett a été nommé sous-ministre adjoint et contrôleur provincial du Bureau du Conseil du Trésor du ministère des Finances de l'Ontario.

Le Bureau du contrôleur provincial de l'Ontario assure l'efficience de la gestion financière, de la comptabilité et du contrôle des programmes, des activités et des ressources. Depuis janvier 2006, M. Bennett agit à titre de contrôleur provincial.

Il s'est joint au ministère des Finances pour gérer la consolidation des hôpitaux, des conseils scolaires et des collèges de l'Ontario dans les états financiers du gouvernement provincial, laquelle a été mise en œuvre pour la première fois dans le Budget 2006 et les Comptes publics 2006. Avant cela, il a occupé les fonctions de contrôleur principal et de vérificateur interne pour le compte de l'ancienne société Ontario Hydro (Ontario Power Generation).
